WARMUP

This game was created for the GMTK 2023 Game Jam, where the theme was 'Roles Reversed'. We interpreted that as 'an exchange of jobs', and came up with this game, where you're in control of a spaceship and need to keep your systems online, but the functions of your control panel keep getting reversed. Can you survive for 5 mintues and warp to safety?

How To Play (summary)

Only a mouse is required and supported for this game. Click buttons and switches, and click and drag levers and dials. Rotate your cursor around dials to make them move.

You have six sets of controls in front of you. Each set of controls corresponds with something you must monitor, like the temperature gauge, the pressure leak, the electrics etc. Use the assigned controls to keep everything under control. 

Pay attention to the colour of each control label. Each system has an associated alarm to warn you that action is needed.

Pay close attention when the control labels start flashing, it means their controls are about to change! You won't have long to figure out how each control maps to each system, so use your brain and stay calm to maintain the ship's systems.

Advanced How To Play (for those wanting more detail)

The systems are:

• Temperature: The thermometer on the left will consistently rise due to the proximity to the sun. Keep the gauge in the yellow to avoid overheating or overcooling your ship.
  
• Defenses: The blue icon in the center displays your current plasma shield capacity. If it hits 0%, your ship will fry, so be sure to keep it as high as possible.
  
• Valve: The camera feed in the bottom right of your display shows a pipe. Close the valve whenever it springs a leak.
• Electrics: The cyan section in the top right of your display has 3 small squares above 3 rectangles. When the squares light up, find a way to light up the rectangles in the same sequence.
  
• Steer: The white box on the left will display coordinates generated by the autopilot. Enter these coordinates when they appear to confirm them.
• Radio: Aliens will want to confirm you're not a threat. Respond to their radio pings to signal that you don't want to be blown up.
• Warp: Hit warp when your 5 minutes is almost up, otherwise you'll lose your window to escape the orbit of the sun.
